FCT NSCDC: Odumosu Commends Personnel For Hitch Free Sallah

The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory Command, Olusola Odumosu, has commended his personnel for ensuring a hitch free Eid el Fitri celebration.

Commandant Odumosu, gave the commendation in Abuja during a meeting with his management staff to review the security situation in the FCT and its environs during and after the Ramadan celebration as well as the public holidays to mark the festivity.

He expressed satisfaction with the conduct and performance of his officers and men who were massively deployed to ensure the security of the city, lives and property of the residents.

“I am so pleased that there were no issues of unrest or attack on any individuals, group of individuals or vandalism of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.

“My men ensured adequate coverage of all nooks and crannies of the city, including all the Area Councils, and by so doing, they have once again proven their mettle that they can be trusted and relied upon”, the Commandant said.

The FCT NSCDC Boss charged personnel to continue with the doggedness they displayed during the sallah celebration in order to maintain the needed peace in the capital city beyond the celebration period.

He said the peace, calm and tranquility the people of the city are enjoying now is not unconnected to the synergy and proactive nature of security agencies across the board.

Odumosu observed also that the collaboration of security agencies with the sole purpose of national security with particular reference to the Federal Capital Territory was yielding unprecedented results.

He said the security of any place, individuals, or essential amenities should not be treated with levity and assured that he will continue to prioritize maximum protection Of National Assets under his purview in Abuja Metropolis and the suburbs.

“My personnel who are trained on specialized duties like covert operations are dotted all over the city on surveillance and I am convinced we will continue to enjoy this peaceful atmosphere beyond the festivities, Odumosu said.

” I want to remind residents of the FCT that security is everybody’s business and as such security should not be left in the hands of security agencies alone, when you see something please report immediately to any Security outfit close to you”.

He warned criminally minded people to stay clear from government facilities or be ready to face the wrath of the law.

“We will not rest on our oars untill the rotten eggs are rooted out of the city, the FCT Commandant stated.”
