The Federal Lawmaker representing Tudun Wada/Doguwa Federal Constituency of Kano State, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, has expressed his confidence in the Nigerian judiciary, calling it the last hope for the common man.

Ado-Doguwa stated this after the Court of Appeal in Abuja dismissed a culpable homicide case filed by the Kano State Government against him.

The court ruled that the appeal lacked merit, upholding an earlier judgment by the Federal High Court, Abuja, which acquitted Doguwa of the murder allegation and ordered the Kano State government to pay a N25 million fine for defaming Doguwa’s character.

Reacting to the judgement, the lawmaker described the judgment as a testament to Nigeria’s reliable judicial system.

“For an individual to win a case against a desperate state government like Kano’s is proof that Nigeria’s judiciary remains the only hope of the common man,” he stated.

He also thanked Allah for vindicating him and absolving him from the alleged mischief of his political opponents and urged his constituents to celebrate the victory while maintaining law and order.

Furthermore, he accepted the challenges faced during the judicial process as an act of God, seeing it as preparation for greater leadership challenges ahead.
