House Passes Bill To Introduce Office Of Prime Minister

The House of Representatives has passed for a second reading a bill that proposes for the office of a Prime Minister as the Head of Government and the Office of President as Head of State.

The Bill Sponsored by the House minority leader Kingsley Chinda and Fifty nine others was among several constitutional amendments related Bills passed by the Green Chamber to alter the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended.

The Bill also provides for a framework for the mode of Election to the said Offices of Prime Minister and Head of State.
