IGP Decorates 39 Personnel

The Inspector-General of Police IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, has decorated 20 newly promoted Assistant Inspectors General of Police AIGs and 19 Commissioners of Police CPs in a ceremony held in Abuja.

Speaking at the event, IGP Egbetokun described the officers’ promotions as a recognition of their dedication, professionalism, and perseverance.

He emphasized that their new ranks come with increased responsibilities, urging them to uphold integrity, discipline, and accountability in their service to the nation.

“As newly promoted officers, I remind you that every promotion comes with increased responsibility. It is a solemn duty to lead, inspire, and uphold the highest standards of integrity. Your leadership will directly shape the morale of those under your command and determine the quality of policing in our nation,” Egbetokun stated.

He called on the officers to take decisive action against misconduct, ensure fairness in their dealings, and embrace accountability as a guiding principle in their leadership.

The IGP reiterated that their elevation was not just a personal milestone but an opportunity to contribute to building a modern, professional police force committed to protecting citizens in accordance with the rule of law.

Egbetokun also expressed appreciation to the Police Service Commission for ensuring timely promotions within the Nigeria Police Force.

He further commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support in strengthening the police force.

Among the newly decorated AIGs were AIG Olatunji Disu, former Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, as well as AIG Fasuba Olabode, AIG Aliyu Musa, AIG Yangan Gramah, AIG Victor Mobolaji Olaiya (son of the late Victor Olaiya), AIG Abubakar Sadiq, AIG Godwin Igwu Eze, AIG Clement Robert, and AIG Thomas Abraham, among others.
