The newly appointed Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has pledged to enforce a zero-tolerance policy against crime within the nation’s capital.

He made this declaration during his inaugural speech at the FCT Police Command Headquarters in Abuja.

Expressing gratitude to the Inspector General of Police for the appointment, Disu acknowledged the security challenges facing the FCT and the achievements of his predecessors in maintaining peace.

He promised to build on their efforts, with a focus on enhancing security and fostering trust between the police and the community.

The new Commissioner outlined key priorities, including intensified focus on community policing, improved intelligence gathering, the integration of modern technology into police operations, and continuous training of personnel.

He emphasized the need for collaboration between the police and the public, stating that community input would be critical in refining the command’s approach to addressing security concerns.

“We will not relent in our commitment to safeguarding our community, ensuring that law enforcement is both effective and respectful of the rights of all citizens”.

Disu also stressed the importance of public engagement through town hall meetings and outreach programs, calling on the public for active participation in creating a safer FCT.

As he takes charge as the 32nd Commissioner of Police for the FCT, Disu’s leadership signals a renewed commitment to maintaining peace and security across the nation’s capital.
