In an effort to make women more stabilised economically, a Muslim Women Empowerment Group has awarded grants to six women entrepreneurs to enhance their small-scale businesses.

Speaking at the grant Award ceremony in Abuja, the Coordinator, Amani Muslim Women Empowerment Initiative Hajiya Hadrat Omipidan said the support was part of the group’s annual project for the year.

She explained that each recipient received ₦250,000 to expand their business and stabilize against economic challenges.

Omipidan emphasized that the grant will enable more women to build momentum and connections that would foster sustainable social and economic developments.

We have done a lot of projects in the past. We have gone to correctional centres, we have gone to hospitals, in fact last month,, we did another hospital charity.

“We have been doing so many outreaches; during Ramadan, we fed over 300 widows, we gave out cash and food stuff, however, this is the first time we are giving our members grants to empower them.”

The Coordinator who explained that the association was established five years ago, commended their sponsors for the supports over the years, and encouraged government assistance for women’s economic stability

“I am sure if our First Lady and some NGOs can help us with grants like this, we will be able to do more for our society.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the group and to God for the privileged, citing the grant’s potential to boost their businesses and improve their families’ well-being.
