The Federal Capital Territory FCT Police Command has arrested four notorious kidnappers in a successful operation that also led to the recovery of arms and ammunition.

According to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Josephine Adeh, in Abuja, the suspects, identified as Yau Sani (alias Baba), Nuhu (alias Giwa), Kabiru Mohammed, and Yusuf Hassan, were apprehended at their hideout in Sauka, Abuja, on October 1st, 2024, following credible intelligence.

The statement noted that the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the FCT Police had trailed the suspects, who have long terrorized residents of the FCT and surrounding areas, being responsible for a series of kidnappings and the killing of seven victims.

It further explained that their criminal activities spanned locations including Dakwa, Dawaki, Aco Estate, Dupe Village, Zuma Rock, Kuchiko Village, as well as several communities in Niger and Kaduna states.

The statement added that during the operation, the suspects led police operatives to another hideout in Gauraka Forest, Suleja, Niger State, where they had buried four AK-47 rifles, thirteen magazines, and 162 rounds of live 7.6mm ammunition.

It also highlighted that the gang revealed plans to launch attacks on government institutions and residential estates in the FCT, which were preemptively foiled by the police.

The FCT Police Command reassured residents of its dedication to eradicating crime and urged the public to report any suspicious activities to the relevant security agencies.
