The Federal Government has reaffirmed their dedication to continuing the implementation of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) policies at the grassroots levels within the FCT in partnership with Water Aid and Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Directorate (RUWASSA).
This was made known at a meeting with newsmen and other stakeholders in Abuja.
The committee tasked with selecting communities for the second year of the Bwari area council WASH project announced that they aim to improve sanitation access in grassroots FCT communities through strategic projects.

Some of these projects include toilets for schools within the chosen communities.
The project manager WASH, Mrs Nanbam Micheal Dawap also spoke on the project and gave insights on the selection process for the second year of the project.
In her remarks, Mrs Micheal shared insights into the WASH programs in the FCT from 2023 to date.
She emphasized the direct and indirect impact of the WASH program, and expressed confidence in the transformative collaboration and anticipated even greater strides in the future, expressing gratitude to RUWASSA and the other partners for their support.
Also, she underscored the crucial significance of achieving the 2024 targets for WASH projects, ensuring maximum benefits for the Fct grassroot communities.
While, she also encouraged members of the communities to keep track of the progress, and to be more involved in coming projects as this would contribute towards making their open defecation free community.
