The Primate, Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba has called on Leaders at all levels to emulate the Lord Jesus Christ and serve sacrificially.
Most Reverend Ndukuba who made the call in Abuja, at a service to mark the beginning of this year’s Lent said God expected everyone irrespective of position or status to make sacrifices exemplifying Christ who surrended himself as a sacrificial lamb for the attornment of sins.
“This is where we call on everyone to serve dutifully and sacrificially in every place God has called us, wether in the office, in the farm, in the market, in businesses, in our churches or in our schools, let us do all to serve God and humanity, I pray that all of us will look beyond the gains of this world to see the Glory of Heaven and pray towards having peace with God and with one another.’
He therefore urged leaders at all levels to make sacrifices for the good of the nation devoid of personal interest.
He stressed the need for Nigerians to serve God and humanity by living lives worthy of emulation.
According to him, “we learned to sacrifice, as Jesus himself said he came not to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many, we should therefore learn from Jesus as he fasted for forty days and forty nights, which is a sacrifice, hence we will love to see our leaders sacrifice for the good of this nation.”
Reverend Ndukuba, therefore, called on Nigerians to use the season to seek the face of God by praying together, regardless of religious affiliations, to foster unity and promote tolerance among different faiths in the country.
