The federal government and other stakeholders have been advised to provide modern agricultural equipment to more youths across the country to venture into mechanised farming.
The National Coordinator of a non-governmental organisation, Green Revolution Farmers Feed the Nation Foundation, Mr. David Okwudiri gave the advice at a news briefing in Abuja.
He explained that the major challenge facing farmers in the country was access to quality seedlings and tractors.
Mr. Okwudiri said the organisation was working closely with stakeholders to empower farmers in each local government with starter packs.
“GRFFNF will partner with Zenith Bank Plc, Polaris Bank Ltd and Fidelity Bank Plc in opening a bank account for members specifically for Agricultural Farming Project Fund to facilitate the scheme. Our “Operation Feed the Nation initiative will supply food to all the 36 states and equally export food outside Nigeria.”
” Hopefully, GRFFNF will empower women and youths with agricultural farming grants and financial support. To achieve this, the top leadership management of Green Revolution Farmers Feed the Nation wish to use this medium to seek for partnership from the Nigerian Government, Ministries, financial institutions, corporate organisations, entrepreneurs, philanthropist and international funding agencies.”
More so, it may interest you to note that this initiative aligns with the Nigerian Government’s vision to boost agricultural production, reduce poverty, and create employment opportunities. By supporting us, you will be contributing to the country’s economic growth and social development in our various communities.”
Mr. Okwudiri expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu’s administration for interventions to boost growth in the agricultural sector.
