Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has commended Nigerian youths for their patriotism and interest in the country’s development.

However, he urged them to reconsider their plan to protest, citing the risk of hijack by hoodlums.

At a town hall meeting with youth representatives in Abuja, Kalu empathized with their plight and acknowledged their constitutional right to protest.

He emphasized the need for dialogue and collaboration, highlighting the government’s efforts in addressing their concerns.

Kalu shared his personal experiences as a student union leader and local government chairman, urging the youths to build on their patriotism and work towards constructive solutions.

He cautioned against the risk of violence and looting, citing the #EndSARs as an example.

The Deputy Speaker appealed to the youths to have a rethink on their protest plan, emphasizing the importance of protecting the country’s infrastructure and values.

He assured them that their voices are being heard and their needs are being addressed.

The meeting was organized by the leadership of the House to engage with the youths and find solutions to their challenges.
