The House of Representatives has announced it is reconvening for a plenary session on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, following a directive from the Speaker, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen.

In a statement in Abuja by the Chairman House committee on Media and Public Affairs, Members have been summoned from their constituencies to attend this crucial session, which was communicated through an internal memorandum by the Clerk of the House, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria.

“The House had commenced its annual recess on July 23, 2024, allowing members to engage with their constituencies and facilitate a deeper understanding of their needs and priorities.

“However, the House is reconvening to address pressing national issues requiring immediate legislative attention.

According to the Statement, in addition to the plenary session, Speaker Abbas Tajudeen will host a town hall meeting with young Nigerians on Wednesday at the National Assembly. Organized in collaboration with YIAGA Africa and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), the town hall aims to provide a platform for young Nigerians to voice their concerns and engage directly with legislative leaders.

“The town hall meeting is a key component of the Legislative Agenda of the 10th House, emphasizing sustained youth engagement and promotion of youth political participation.

“It seeks to bridge the gap between policymakers and the younger generation, ensuring that policies and laws are inclusive and address the specific needs of the youth.

“The 10th House of Representatives remains committed to representing the interests of the Nigerian people and advancing the nation’s development. , the statement adds.
