The Social Democratic Party, SDP,’s gubernatorial candidate in Kogi State, Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka has called on citizens to exercise restraint and patience in the face of economic hardship.

With a nationwide mass protest looming, Ajaka believes that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with his wealth of experience, is already on track to address the nation’s multifaceted challenges and should not be distracted by mass protests.

In a statement in Abuja, Ajaka acknowledges the frustrations and hardships faced by Nigerians but emphasizes that peaceful protests often end in violence and destruction of property.

He reminds citizens that the country has a proven track record of overcoming adversity through unity and resilience, saying the country has faced numerous challenges in the past but always comes out stronger with unity.

Ajaka expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s capacity to deliver on his mandate and implement laudable policies.

He, however, tasked the President to reshuffle his cabinet to inject fresh blood and ideas into the administration.

Additionally, Ajaka advised the President to caution some of his aides against making unguarded utterances on sensitive issues, suggesting that some of them should be relieved of their duties to enable the president to connect with citizens.

In his statement, titled “My Stand on the Planned Nationwide Protest,” Ajaka also urged the President to take urgent steps to address the false claims made by Farouk Ahmed, CEO of NMDPRA, against Aliko Dangote, emphasizing the need to protect and support prominent Nigerian businessmen and global brands.
