YOWICAN Dissociates Itself From Proposed Protest

The Youth Wing, Christian Association of Nigeria, YOWICAN has dissociated itself from the proposed August Nationwide protest.

YOWICAN Chairman, Mr Belusochukwu Enwere who stated this while addressing newsmen at the end of the National Executive Council Emergency meeting in Abuja described those who are proposing the protest as faceless.

Mr Belusochukwu Enwere said all its State chairmen have resolved not to join any action that could bring crisis and destruction of lives and property.

According to him, all the Youths in the Christian Association of Nigeria will remain committed to national Unity and peaceful coxesistence .

He commended President Bola Tinubu for his commitment to revamp the nation’s economy and some of the policies including the New national minimum wage, the national student loan scheme, and autonomy of Local Government administration.

He stressed the need for Youths to avail themselves of the opportunity available in government’s renewed hope programs for development.

Mr Belusochukwu Enwere maintained that the YOWICAN would continue to engage with the government on national issues.

He, however, appealed to the government to ensure full implementation of the administration”s programs and put an end to the current security situation in the country.

The CAN Youth Leader passionately called on security agencies to ensure immediate release of religious leaders currently in captivity of kidnappers.

He assured that YOWICAN would not relent in praying for those in authority and mobilize youths for national development.
