The Tor Tiv, Professor James Ayatse, has appealed to Nigerians, irrespective of their religious affiliations, to seek Divine Intervention for the challenges facing the country rather than embarking on agitations.

The Tor Tiv who made the appeal in Abuja during the inauguration of the National Advisory Board and Planning Committee of the 72-Hour Marathon Prayers and Fasting for Peace, Unity, and Progress of Nigeria said the solutions to the current challenges in the country are beyond what the political class can solve.

Professor James Ayatse, who is also the National President of the Association of Christian Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, stressed that although the present global economic situation is not peculiar to the country, passionately appealed to Christians not to relent in praying for those in authority.

The Royal Father said he would use his position to mobilize Nigerians to come together and pray for peace and unity in the country.

According to Professor Ayatse, God is ready to answer our prayers if all Nigerians come together in unity and seek the face of God, regardless of how mighty the challenges are.

While inaugurating committees for the national assignment, the Director of Planning, Research, and Documentation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Bishop Mike Akpam, said that the Christian umbrella body would do everything within its power to promote religious harmony and development in the country.

Bishop Mike Akpam urged the committees to remain committed and ensure that all Christian denominations are carried along in the 72-Hour Marathon Prayers and Fasting.

The coordinator of the program, Dr. Liberty Okon, said the assignment would be carried out in all thirty-six states of the federation and the FCT.
