The Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives has urged the Federal Government to engage in dialogue with planned protesters to address their concerns.
The Caucus Chairman, Kingsley Chinda made this call after a session dinner in Abuja, while also discouraging the planned protest due to security concerns.
Chinda emphasized the need for the government to intervene and resolve issues amicably, acknowledging that past protests have been hijacked by hoodlums.
He encouraged the government to adopt a “carrot and stick” approach to address insecurity, ensuring visible results and protecting Nigerians.
Additionally, the Caucus called on the government to empower citizens to be self-reliant amidst economic downturn, moving beyond palliatives to create sustainable solutions.
The dinner was held to express gratitude to Caucus members for their support.
