PRP Wants Govt To Intensify Fight Against Corruption

todayDecember 14, 2024

Background

The Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, has called on the federal government to intensify its fight against corruption especially in the oil and gas sector as well as ensure policies that would improve the nation’s small and medium enterprises.

The National Chairman of the party, Mallam Falalu Bello, made the call at a joint news conference in Abuja.

Mallam Bello who explained that no nation excels without a robust small and medium entreprises stressed the need for more political will to strengthen the sector and revive the nation’s economy.

According to Falalu” We firmly believe that viable and humane alternatives can guide our nation towards sustainable economic recovery. We strongly urge President Tinubu to recalibrate his approach, implement a governance framework that prioritizes citizens’ welfare, and embrace homegrown policies that reflect the realities of our people”.

“These anti-people policies and measures are simply not working and merely stifle progress of the nation. A 38.00% interest rate that the banks are charging cannot develop small and medium-sized industries that fuel growth in all developing economies, as an example.”

Also the National Chairman of the Africa Development Congress, Mr. Ralph Nwosu expressed concern over non investigation into fraud related cases during the petroleum subsidy scheme to ensure a fair system that protects the poor and preserves the middle class from further economic disintegration.

The two parties are to form an alliance, which may lead to a merger aimed at fostering positive change in Nigeria thereby inviting other credible individuals and parties to join them.
