The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has fixed 18th September to decide the fate of Abdullahi Ganduje as current National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

This is against the backdrop of a lawsuit instituted by the APC North-Central Forum which seeks an order of the Court removing Ganduje from office on the grounds that he is there unlawfully being from the North-West when it was the turn of the North-Central to produce the National Chairman.

Ganduje, a former Kano State governor, replaced former Nasarawa state governor Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who resigned from the post of Chairman on July 16, 2023 about a year after assuming the position.

Inyang Ekwo, a Federal High Court judge, gave the date for judgment after all parties in the lawsuit, adopted their court documents.

The APC North-Central Forum had sued Ganduje, the APC and the electoral body, INEC.

The APC, lead Counsel, Ishiaku Dikko said the election of Abdullahi Ganduje as the National Chairman of the party was unconstitutional as no Congress was organized to that effect after the resignation of he former national chairman, Abdullahi Adamu.

He, however, called on the judiciary, being the only hope for a man to get justice to wade into the matter within the ambit of the law in the interest of the party and the country at large

On his part, Chairman All Progressives Congress APC, north central forum, Mr Salleh Abdullahi, said the reserved Judgment when delivered will restore peace and tranquillity to the party.

Saleh added that the binding Constitution of the party, if adhered to strictly, will address the numerous challenges inline with global best practices for national development.
