The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has awarded three points and three goals to Rangers for the abandoned oriental derby with Enyimba.

The Oriental derby, matchday 35 encounter between both teams at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium on Sunday was abandoned following Enyimba players walking out of the game in stoppage time on account of a penalty awarded to the hosts.

The Aba giants’ fans also invaded the pitch afterwards.

The League governing body awarded three points and three goals to Rangers International and fined Enyimba FC the sum of Ten million naira (#10m) for breaching the frameworks.

Meanwhile also fining Rangers N5m for various
offences, including non-provision of adequate security, encroachment on to the pitch by fans and other unauthorized persons as well as sales of tickets to spectators more than the stadium capacity.

Both clubs have 48 hours to appeal the decision.

With this development, Rangers remain on top of the league table with 64 points from 35 matches as Enyimba FC and Remo Stars are in second and third positions respectively with 59 points each.
