Embracing Power Of Positive Thinking Amidst Economic Challenges

Background

Embracing Power Of Positive Thinking Amidst Economic Challenges

Positive thinking and a life of love creates in man a new life.

For instance, if one has a broken hand as a result of a motor accident, the situation can create a chain-reaction to life.

Such a person may be tempted to have evil thoughts about the reckless driver and questioning God, on the rationale of life.

This is contrary to positive thinking which could slow down the natural healing process of life.

For such, illness has become a call to face the ultimate questions of existence, at a time when it is least prepared. Such developments amount to negative thinking about predicaments.

This brings to fore an ancient maxim; What you think upon grows.

The maxim neatly sums up the greatest and most fundamental of all the Laws of Mind, which is, whatever a person allow to occupy his or her mind, will invariably magnify in life.

It must be noted that the most important conversation one will ever have is with oneself.

Just as one must guard one’s thoughts, one must also guard one’s inner dialogue.

Thus, it is not what happens that counts; it is the response to what happened.

When something goes wrong, especially in one’s life, the natural tendency is to get angry, play the blame game and make excuses.

Whereas, the wisest thing to do is to accept responsibility.

Without mincing words, every experience is a positive experience, when viewed as an opportunity for growth and self-mastery.

When some of the trying situations a person finds his or herself seems to go on far too long, such an individual is usually tempted to complain or become discouraged.

Instead, one needs to adjust his or her attitude and ask God for guidance, as one presses through difficult situation.

Sometimes, God uses trials and pressure to produce good results.

No one’s entire life is like one big, long sunny day. Everyone faces storms; whether they come in the form of unexpected illness, job loss, financial crisis, marital difficulties, natural disaster, or other scenarios that are stressful, intense, and important.

The sorry state of the economy, which has caused the naira to plummet, is an undeniable storm citizens are going through.

As a result of the nation’s economy, evidenced in the soaring prices of food items, other essential commodities and services, most Nigerians do not acknowledge the enjoyment of well-being.

Sighs, groans and contorted faces accompany replies to questions about people’s welfare.

For instance, the replies to such a question as: ‘How are you?’ Or ‘How body?’ is usually followed by: ‘I’m patching life, ‘I’m managing, ‘Country hard, ‘ ‘Hunger dey wire man pikin,’ ‘Body just dey inside cloth, ‘and so on.

All these responses are monotonous celebrations of frustrations and despondency.

Must it always be negative confessions? Is the present state of affairs in the country going to persist ad infinitum? Nigerians should realize that treasures are not found beneath mere sand, only resilient hunters, who are courageous, discover them.

When the storms of life arise, it is best to still keep minds and emotions together.

Thoughts and feelings often run wild in the midst of crisis, but these are exactly the times needed to be careful about taking decisions.

Trials are temporary; it will not last forever. Better days are coming. It must be realized that it is the same sun which thaws the ice that hardens the clay.

In other words, Nigerians are the ones to fix her economy.

Therefore, all hands must be on deck to move Nigeria forward.
