FCT Malaria Coordinator, Dr. Dan Gadzama says Basic Healthcare Provision Funds remains the most sustainable intervention to improve health care delivery in the country.
Dr. Gadzama made this known when the advocacy team implementing the Resilient and Sustainable System for Health in the FCT paid him a visit in Abuja.
Dr Gadzama explained that primary health was basically being managed by the Area Councils with quarterly visits by the public health secretary of the territory adding that the regular visit provides first hand information on lapses which requires collaborative effort to address.
He said the administration would not relent in pushing further for the basic healthcare provision funds to be signed into law which according to him would sustain and improve the infrastructural deficit identified in primary healthcare centers especially at the grassroots.

Dr. Gadzama therefore promised to collaborate with relevant stakeholders willing to support effective healthcare delivery at the grassroots.
Earlier, the leader of the group, Mr. Nathaniel Salifu said the visit was among other things to solicit sustainable intervention in the second phase of the project in some observed lapses in some health care centres in the territory so as to improve service delivery.
The team also visited the FCT Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control office to advocate for necessary awareness on the need for testing, prevention and treatment of Tuberculosis which according to experts is a curable disease.
