Primate Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba has appealed to the federal government and organized Labour to find a common ground as negotiation for new national minimum wage resumes this week.
Addressing the congregation during a confirmation service at the Cathedral Church of Advent Life Camp Abuja, Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba said the current wages could no longer meet the needs of Nigerian Workers.
He stressed that the two parties should come up with what the federal government could afford and also make workers meet the current economic reality in the country.
Most Reverend Ndukuba expressed the believe that quick resolution on the new living wage for workers would avert the proposed industrial action by the organized Labour.
The Anglican Primate said the church would redouble efforts in working with government, schools and parents in raising godly children to address Youth restiveness and moral decadence in the country.
According to him, induction of boys into the Anglican Boys fellowship is another new strategy by the church to inculcate moral values and fear of God into the boys who are the future leaders both at home and in the society.
He also urged the newly admitted Girls’ Guild, Women’s Guild and Mothers’ Union to make themselves available for the service of God and humanity.
