They particularly lauded his inclusive governance, with a pledge to support him to succeed.
The Kogi East APC stakeholders reiterated their Commitment to their party, emphasising that more efforts would be put in place to ensure that APC remains vibrant in Igala land and the entire State to get the needed influence and voice throughout the region.
The Kogi East Stakeholders comprises notable personalities like, the former Minister of State for Labour, Prof Stephen Ocheja, Rtd General Patrick Akpa, Senator Emmanuel Dangana, Hon. Bala Zekeri, Hon Moses Abdullahi and Prof Isa Daniel who is the pioneer Chairman of the group.
Prof Daniel who identified the strong presence of the APC in the eastern senatorial zone, covering nine local government areas, stressed the importance of massive grassroots engagement to bolster the party’s membership in the eastern part of the state.
He also stressed the need for stakeholders to adopt a workable ‘operational political victory module’ that will help the party to keep the flag flying in the State in future elections.
“We earnestly want to engage our grassroots members with the view to swell our membership hub, it is worthy of note that the recent happenings in Kogi East concerning stiff opposition has raised its ugly head and there is a serious depletion in our membership which motivated the need to increase followers.
“As critical stakeholders, we deem it necessary to make sure that we come together and adopt an operational method for victory, so that the party can come out successfully in the next elections.
“In achieving what is before us and to consolidate our party, we need an interface with Gov. Ododo for possible directive and feedback. APC is the party we call our own, and we pledge our absolute loyalty to its leadership under His Excellency, Alhaji Usman Ododo, Daniel said.
On his part, Former Minister of State for Labour, Prof.Stephen Ocheja commended Governor Ododo for his prompt and full payment of salaries and his other welfare services.
“Worker’s welfare is crucial for a productive workforce, and I am pleased that Governor Ododo has maintained a commendable record of prompt salary payment and for not owing workers’ salaries so far.”
Another APC Kogi East Stakeholder, a Former Senator, Emmanuel Dangana Ocheja hailed Ododo’s inclusive approach of reaching out, even to those outside the APC.
“Governor Ododo has been proactive and inclusive in his governance, which speaks volumes for our party’s future. Ododo has begun his stewardship on a very good footing. He has started visiting top political stakeholders across the different parties in the state, like the former governor Ibrahim Idris and former governor Idris Wada among others.”
“He is bringing people together and reconciling even the warring factions in Kogi and we welcome and encourage him to keep on with what he has started.
If he continues with what he is doing now, there will not be any other party in Kogi but APC,” he said.
Another APC Stalwart, Bala Zekeri, who described APC as a progressive democratic Party, expressed optimism that the depletion of members could be addressed by re-mobilising, sensitizing and talking to the people.
“There are a lot of defections from the party after the election. So, we are coming together to help our party; to help our government and remobilise, sensitize, and talk to our people.”
Similarly, a retired Military General, Patrick Akpa commended how Ododo has managed security issues in the State within the last 100 days in office.
“Security challenges are not unique to Kogi State; they are nationwide. However, I am grateful for how the governor and his team have managed security issues, including making strategic visits to areas prone to security threats and immediate rescue of the recently adopted students,” he said.
Speaking on Harmony and how to consolidate on the successes recorded so far in the State, Another political icon, Moses Abdullahi identified innovative strategies, genuine consultations and proper realignment as a sure way to succeed.
