FCT : Kaida Tsoho, Dobi Communities Raise Alarm Over Lack Of Potable Water

Lack of potable water in Kaida Tsoho and Dobi communities in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT has become a cause for concern for residents.

Kaida Tsoho is about 20 minutes drive from Gwagwalada while Dobi is also almost 25 minutes drive from the Gwagwalada Area Council Secretariat.

The two Communities have similar challenges especially lack of potable water and other social amenities.

Regretably, a stream is the major source of water to residents of both communities where several unwholesome activities are carried out including defecation and also serving as drinking point for cattle.

A Youth Leader in the community, Mr Ishaka Halidu who expressed concern over the situation said lack of basic amenities have been the bane of development in the area especially shortage of water supply.

The District Head and the Madaki of Kaida Tsoho Community, Alhaji Aliyu Biko called for the provision of boreholes in the community to reduce the challenges of water supply because the two communities have only two boreholes and one is not functioning well.

Also speaking, a Community Leader, in Dobi Community Mr Paul Enokela said the situation has been affecting the socioeconomic wellbeing of people in the area .

They therefore called for necessary measures by the Government to avoid the outbreak of diseases due to consumption of bad and polluted water.
