The Federal Government has reaffirmed commitment towards creating a more secured and conducive environment for the citizens.
The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo stated this during a tour of some facilities under the ministry.
The Minister re-emphasized that the present administration would not relent in ensuring that correctional centres are made to be actually correctional in nature.
He commended president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the intervention fund which made it possible for the ministry to embark on massive projects for the good of the nation.
“We thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the intervention fund that he provided for us to be able to achieve this, as you can see, the perimeter fencing is completed, what we are doing now is installing solar lights across the premises for all round and better illumination”.
At the fire academy Kwali, the minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo stated that the academy will receive a boost in the coming months for optimal performance.
“We are erecting a fire academy that can be compared to the best you can get anywhere in the world, fire service is not just a profession of choice, it is a mandatory profession that we must encourage in our society”.
The chairman Kwali Area Council, Mr Danladi Chiya who commended President Tinubu’s administration for the laudable achievements so far, called on the government to carry his people along in terms of employment.
