Gbogbodo community is about fifteen kilometers away from Abaji Area Council, while Nanda is also not less than twenty kilometers from the area council’s headquarters, all in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
The two communities which have been in existence for over two decades lack basic social amenities such as motorable roads, electricity, healthcare centres, and potable water, among others.
But one major thing that is common among the two communities is that a stream serves as a major source of water for their domestic use as both communities have one solar powered borehole each to serve the large number of people resident there.
Unfortunately, the stream also serves as a source of drinking water for cattle, laundry as well as other unwholesome activities such as defecation.

Some residents in the communities regretted that the solar powered borehole cannot function without sunlight, hence their predicament.
One of the Leaders in Gbogbodo Community, Mr, Dauda Bitrus who said the development has been affecting the wellbeing of residents of the community, appealed to government to give special attention to the provision of clean drinking water to the community.

On his part, the Chief of Nanda, Mr, Danjuma Azaki and the Youth leader of Gbogbodo Mr, Shenenigi Uye said despite promises by politicians during electioneering campaigns over the years, they are yet to benefit from the dividends of democracy in the area of basic amenities.
In his reaction, the Secretary, Abaji Area Council, Mr, Agaba Abaji appealed to residents of the communities to exercise patience as necessary steps would be taken to address their plight.
Mr, Agaba reiterated the commitment of the Council to the development of rural communities.
