As part of efforts to curb social vices and idleness among Nigerians, a Television Reality show: 40 & Fabulous, aimed at creating, promoting cultural decency, targeted at empowering the Nigerian women above 40 years of age second edition has begun in Abuja.
At a news conference ahead of the grand finale, the Convener of the program, Jolly Nnenna Abani, said the show was aimed at redefining age boundaries in the entertainment industry while offering a platform for women to reignite their aspirations and pursue their dreams.
According to her, the reality show is to help the multi-tasking women choose their right career by showcasing their crafts and to create a platform to help depressed women who are 40 years of age or above.
She noted that the reality show is aimed at improving the wellbeing of an average woman, capacity building for multi-talented women and cross breeding of talents and crafts amongst women who are creative.
Also speaking, a Stakeholder, Mr. Kennedy Chukwuma said 40 and Fabulous is actually a platform where women entrepreneurs would be supported and brought to the limelight.
According to Mr Chukwuma “As these women, married, widowed, or single mothers, navigate a landscape that dismisses them based on age, MOM’s mission took center stage, and started up with the support of The National Council of Art and Culture, SMEDAN, Kefiano Autos, W- Incubators and providing financial literacy and counseling, recognizing the resilience forged through enduring significant hardships.
“MOM’s vision materializes through the ’40 and Fabulous Reality TV Show, offering a second chance for mothers to reignite their aspirations. The global call for one-minute video submissions becomes a beacon for Nigerian women, showcasing their multitasking abilities and, in turn, receiving the recognition they deserve. From 40 submissions, 10 exceptional women are chosen, demonstrating readiness and ambition.”
The upcoming event is expected to feature old musicians such as Shina Peters, Rugar MC Bob, among others.
