According to him the National Youth Service Corps scheme has since been revived, and suspension of the West Africa Examination Council in some areas hit by insurgency has been lifted.

He added that the troops also embarked on several non kinetic operations to foster peace and security in the region.

Explorations in Maiduguri town, Chabbol community, Muna Garage, Molai, and Konduga local government areas showed the return of normalcy to previously embattled areas.

Residents of Chabbol village praised the military for ensuring their safety and urged the government to expedite action to facilitate their return to farming for a secure livelihood.

One of the internally displaced persons in Chabbol, Fatima Abdullahi while commending the military for its efforts called for provision of medical facilities, schools and relief materials to help mitigate the aftermath of the crisis.

At Muna garage, a resident, Ibrahim Yahaya while recounting the horrifying experiences of insurgency in the area explained that the military played a significant role in ensuring peace and order in the area.

He further asked for financial assistance from the federal government to enable villagers to recommence their businesses running into billions of naira destroyed by the terrorists.

At the 222 battalion stationed in Konduga, one of the worst hit areas during the peak of the insurgency, the team was received by the Sector Commander Lt. Col. Joel Mohammed.

The Sector Commander, reiterated the troops’ unwavering commitment to securing the region.

He also emphasized the importance of appreciating the sacrifices of the troops and tasked Nigerians to continue to support the military in the fight against insurgency.
