Minister of FCT, Mr Nyesom Wike says his administration is determined to fulfill all promises made to residents in line with President Tinubu’s mantra, to prove to Nigerians that the Renewed Hope Agenda is a reality.
The Minister gave this assurance today while inspecting the ongoing construction of the Vice President’s Residence in Abuja.
Wike explained that the inspection was to ascertain the possibility of commissioning the apartment in May, being one of the projects penciled down for commissioning to mark Mr President’s one year in Office.
Wike assured that everything was being put together to make the residence the best in terms of quality, security, and accessibility.
According to Wike several completed projects would be inaugurated to demonstrate the reality of President Tinubu’s promise of renewed hope to the people.
This, he said would further strengthen citizen’s trust in the government.
Wike expressed confidence that the Administration was making a huge positive impact, not just in the area of infrastructure, but changing the entire structure of the FCT for the better and the overall good of all.
“Let the residents know that the renewed hope agenda is a reality, because if you don’t tell people this has been done nobody will know that things have been done”.
“Let people know that yes, this is the promise we made, and within one year in office, this is what we have been able to achieve, as far as FCT is concerned.”
Responding to questions on the location of the Vice President’s residence, Wike explained that the Federal Government decided where VP’s residence should be sited, emphasizing that traffic congestion or insecurity can not be a challenge in the area.
According to Wike, everything had been taken into consideration to give it the best by the designers of the edifice.
Wike further explained that the FCT Administration has invited the Office of the National Security Adviser for their advise, adding that the office had looked at the location and made inputs.
Wike also added that the Federal Capital Development Authority and Julius Berger were making the needed amendment where necessary to address traffic congestion in the Area.
