The House of Representatives Minority and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Caucuses have distanced themselves from a purported coalition of opposition lawmakers led by Ikenga Ugochinyere, stating that such a body is unrecognized within the parliament.
A joint statement signed by minority caucus leaders, Kingsley Chinda ( Minority Leader), Ali Madaki ( Deputy Minority), Ali Isah J.C (Minority Whip) and George Ozodinobi, ( deputy Minority Whip) expresses condemnation of the recent press conference held by Ugochinyere, 5 others and 54 Imaginary members, asserting that the mentioned coalition and its declarations are not endorsed by the parliament.
Emphasizing that the coalition lacks legitimacy within the parliamentary framework, both caucuses criticized the use of non parliamentary language and disapproved of the group’s actions.
They urged the public to disregard any misinformation spread by the coalition, affirming that its demands do not represent those of the minority parties.
The statement also calls on the coalition members to refrain from further misleading the public and to uphold honorable conduct in their engagements.
