House Of LP Nat’l Chairman Gutted By Fire

todayApril 3, 2024

Background

The Labour Party says the house of its national chairman, Julius Abure, was gutted by fire in the early hours of
today.

This is contained in a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, in Abuja.

The statement also claims that it was an assassination attempt on the chairman.

“His residence was gutted by a mysterious fire which started a few minutes after 1am while Abure and members of his family were asleep” Mr. Ifoh adds.

According to the statement a member of the family who narrated the incident, explains that the family was woken up by neighbours and security men living in the compound who raised the alarm.

“The entire family were trapped as the inferno had reached the staircase, making it impossible for Abure and family to escape” he stresses.

“However, it took divine intervention for the national chairman and his family to escape after neighbours as security men gallantly pulled down one of the windows upstairs, making way for the family to escape”.

“Men of the Fire Service arrived shortly after Abure and his family were evacuated and rushed to a private hospital where they are presently receiving treatment. Their condition is, however stable” Mr. Ifoh emphasizes”.
