Rivers Angels Coach, Whyte Ogbonda, insists his team is not under pressure ahead of the crunch encounter with Sunshine Queens.

The Jewel of Rivers will trade tackles with Sunshine Queens in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership scheduled for Wednesday, inside the Akure Township Stadium.

Ogbonda also expressed confidence in his team’s readiness for the upcoming challenge, emphasizing the importance of securing maximum points to enhance their chances of qualifying for the Super Six.

“I wouldn’t say I’m under pressure but we need to get that three points. The team is not under any pressure but our target is to get the three points so that other matches will be very easy for us.

“Knowing the way Akure fans behave, we know it won’t be an easy match but we are well prepared for them.”

Nasarawa Amazons Eager To Secure Victory In Abia

As Nasarawa Amazons arrive in Aba for their clash against Abia Angels in the 12th matchday of the Nigeria Women’s Premier League (NWFL), team captain Mathias Josephine expressed their determination to play with the spirit of lions and secure a win.

Meanwhile, Josephine spoke to the team’s media and admitted the previous result fell short of expectations. She downplayed any focus on the past, emphasizing their intense concentration on winning in Aba.

 

“We are here in Aba for serious business, with all hands on deck for maximum points,” Josephine affirmed.

Also Asserting their readiness for the match, Josephine highlighted the team’s preparedness both physically, spiritually, and psychologically, emphasizing their determination to bounce back from the setback and regain lost points.

“We are physically, spiritually, and psychologically ready to recoup the lost points in this match,” Josephine stated confidently. “We are focused on upping our game in all departments to secure victory and improve our standing in the league.”

Reflecting on past successes, Josephine reminded her teammates that they have achieved victory in similar situations before and expressed confidence in their ability to replicate that success.

“We did it here last season, so we can still do it again,” Josephine affirmed, emphasizing the team’s belief in their capabilities.

Nasarawa Amazons set their sights on securing victory and making their fans proud. Determined to improve their league standing, they’re aiming for a strong performance in Aba.
