Budget Approval For DHML Geared Towards Suport For Armed Forces – Matawalle

The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle has revealed that the approved 2024 budget for the Defence Health Maintenance Limited, DHML is geared towards ensuring efficient support for the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

According to a statement by the Director information and public relations Henshaw Ogubike, Matawalle made this revelation during the 34th meeting of the DHML Board of Directors held in Abuja.

Matawalle emphasized that the allocated budget reflects President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the Nigerian Military.

He urged the Board to exercise prudence and effectiveness in resource management to fulfill DHML’s mandate.

Highlighting the Board’s decision to provide a severance allowance equivalent to 40% of staff basic salary, the Minister underscored the organization’s dedication to staff welfare.

He commended DHML for its role in delivering healthcare services to Veterans and assured continued government prioritization of quality healthcare for Veterans and citizens alike.

The Minister further directed the establishment of a technical committee to address operational challenges faced by the organization.
