FCT : Fire Guts Kwali Central Market

Part of Kwali central market in the Federal Capital Territory has been gutted by fire.

The incident which occured last night destroyed shops and property worth millions of naira.

Speaking on the incident, an Officer of the Local Emergency Management Committee in Kwali Area Council, Mr Gaji Joseph, who said no life was lost to the fire outbreak explained that the Committee with the support of the Fire Service was able to bring the situation under control.

Mr Joseph advised residents of the area to always be fire safety conscious to avoid loss of lives and property.

Some of the victims, Malama Hajara Musa and Hajiya Maryam Isah called on the Council to come to their aid having lost goods worth millions of naira which is their source of livelihood.
