IWD : NIS Tasks Female Officers On Service For Nation Building

The Nigeria Immigration Service has called on female officers to be committed and resilient in their service to the nation.

The Comptroller of Immigration FCT Command, Tony Akuneme made the call at an event organized by the Nigeria Immigration Service to mark this year’s International Women’s Day in Abuja.

Tony Akuneme who extolled the virtues of women in nation building charged them to remain steadfast and strive to continue to excel in all they do.

“We also take a lot of inspiration from our Comptroller General Mrs Kemi Nandap who has also set the stage”.

“I dare say the Nigeria Immigration Service is probably the only uniform agency that has the courage and boldness to allow women to get to the top, there is something about the Nigeria Immigration Service that makes it gender friendly. As far as NIS is concerned the best leads the rest “.

” NIS is not discriminating against the women ,we will continue to encourage our women to strive to get to the top of their career”.

Some of the female officers who spoke at the event emphasized the need for female officers to break barriers and set higher records for themselves.

“I want to encourage the young ones who are just coming up that if others can achieve it, they can also do more, younger officers should be courageous and determined to make it “.

They commended the Federal Government for finding women worthy of assuming the leadership of the Nigeria Immigration Service.
