The Federal Government says it is taking every measure to decisively confront challenges bedeveling the nation.
In a statement, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris says the current administration fully acknowledges its responsibility to every Nigerian, across the lines of age, gender, religion, ethnicity, and social class.
The statement explains that already, all threats to national security are being boldly confronted as several bandits, kidnappers and militants were neutralized or arrested last week.
The administration regrets the resurgence of crisis in Plateau State and gave the assurance that all perpetrators of violence there, and everywhere else in the country, are being brought to book.
On the economy, the minister said all relevant Ministries and Agencies are working in a coordinated fashion, to bring down inflation, stabilize foreign exchange rates, and create a truly enabling environment for business and investment.
The statement further says Impactful interventions are being rolled out, including the Students’ Loan Scheme, Presidential Initiative to deploy lower-cost CNG mass transit buses to provide alternatives to petrol and diesel, and various low-interest loan schemes for businesses.
The minister urges all Nigerians to be mindful of persons and groups at home and abroad, who specializes in making false and inciting claims on radio, TV and social media, as well as in peddling altered videos and images for viral dissemination.
He commends the heartwarming exploits of the beloved Super Eagles at the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire and reminded Nigerians that the things that bind us together as one are much deeper than the things that separate and divide us.
