Troops have been directed to adopt a more aggressive posture to quell activities of terrorists in Plateau State and neighbouring states.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja gave the stern order during his operational tour to Plateau, following a recent disturbance in Mangu Local Government Area.
Addressing troops of the 3 Division Nigerian Army and the Joint Task Force Operation Safe Haven, General Lagbaja urged them to go hard on those causing mayhem and neutralize any terrorist involved in any attack.
Acknowledging the complexity of the security dynamics on the Plateau, the Army Boss, highlighted the intertwining of political, cultural, and economic factors contributing to the prolonged conflicts.

He also inspected recovered arms and ammunition, commending troops for preventing the crisis from spreading further.
Expressing confidence in the resilience of the troops, General Lagbaja charged them to adhere to rules of engagement, devoid of sentiments, and maintain the trust of the people.
He addressed concerns of misconduct, assuring that the military has internal regulatory mechanisms, warning against compromises.
Paying a visit on Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, General Lagbaja expressed gratitude for the state’s efforts in ensuring peace.
In his remarks the Governor acknowledged the role of the civil populace in enhancing security, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts to regain peace and harmony.
