In a swift and coordinated operation, the FCT Police Command, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army, successfully rescued victims kidnapped in the Zuma 1 Area of Bwari on January 2 of this year.
According to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Josephine Adeh, the Anti-Kidnapping squad worked tirelessly, located, and liberated the victims around Kajuru Forest in Kaduna state at approximately 11:30 pm on Saturday.
Expressing appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for deploying the newly commissioned Special Intervention Squad, Commissioner of Police FCT Command, Haruna Garba, emphasized the positive impact of the squad on the existing security architecture.
He noted that this deployment not only bolstered public confidence but also played a crucial role in the successful rescue mission.
Garba reiterated the FCT Police Command’s unwavering commitment to maintaining robust security arrangements in affected areas and other parts of the Territory to ensure the utmost peace and security for all residents.
He urged residents of the Federal Capital Territory to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly.
