I Will Make Abuja Hot For Kidnappers – Wike

todayJanuary 17, 2024

Background

Worried by the spate of kidnappings in Abuja, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr Nyesom Wike has vowed to make Abuja hot for kidnappers, bandits and criminals terrorizing the territory.

Wike who stated this today when he visited Bwari Area Council to condole with the people, said President Tinubu has given him the approval to provide the needed security gadgets and logistics to flush kidnappers out of the city.

“I know the kidnappers have informants. I don’t care who you are, i am the Minister of FCT. Informants, you will not sleep again. We will make this place hot for you…enough is enough for all those criminals and bandits… we will ensure such never happen again ” Wike said.

Mr Wike explained that the Government of President Bola Tinubu would not romance with kidnappers but do
everything humanly possible to send them back to wherever they are coming from.

He said President Tinubu was very angry about the Bwari kidnapping cases and has summoned and directed all security Chiefs and Ministers to work hand in hand with security agencies to ensure that such a thing never happen again.

Wike noted that security is one of Mr President’s agenda to protect lives and property, and promised to give Bwari Area Council the vehicles they requested for.

He warned all the informants feeding the kidnappers to desist as hard times awaits them, emphasising that “enough is enough “.

Wike assured the good people of Bwari Area Council that they are not alone in this matter, pointing out that whatever affects Bwari Area Council, affects the entire territory, and by extension the country.

The FCT Minister also urged Traditional rulers and Community leaders to live up to their responsibilities.

In a remark, the Sarkin Bwari, Awwal Musa Ijakoro called on the Federal Government to establish mini barracks or police Area Command in Bwari to prevent infiltration of hoodlums into the Area.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman Bwari Area Council, Mr John Gabaya who thanked the FCT Minister for coming to commiserate with them, appealed to the FCT Minister to give the Security Personnel more support especially in the aspect of gadgets and logistics.

“You have shown love to Bwari Area Council with your coming. I believe with your coming, everything will go back to normal”.
