In a special Christmas message, the Minister of State for Defence,
Muhammed Bello Matawalle has
extended his warmest greetings and heartfelt wishes to every citizen of Nigeria.
Acknowledging the festive season as a time for reflection, gratitude, and unity, Matawalle emphasized the values of love, peace, and goodwill.
“Christmas is a time that reminds us of the essence of love, peace, and goodwill towards all. In the midst of our diverse challenges, let us foster unity, understanding, and harmony in our communities and nation,” the minister stated in his Christmas message.
He called on Nigerians to use the Christmas celebration to bind the nation together and align with the teachings of Christ, emphasizing that with love and unity, common enemies such as terrorism and other criminalities could be defeated.
The Minister while highlighting the sacrifices made daily by the brave men and women of the Armed Forces in ensuring the safety and security of the nation urged citizens to keep them in their thoughts and prayers during this Christmas season, recognizing their dedication, resilience, and commitment to duty.
Matawalle wished everyone a Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year and prayed for God’s blessings on the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Similarly, the Minister
extended warm congratulations to the recently promoted military officers across the Nigeria Armed Forces.
He acknowledged their dedication, sacrifice, and contribution to national security.
In his congratulatory message, Matawalle praised the officers’ unwavering commitment, stating, “the promotion of these officers is a testament to their meritorious service.
He reiterated that their achievements reflect the core values of discipline, bravery, and professionalism that define the Nigeria Armed Forces.
The Minister emphasized the crucial role of the newly promoted officers in addressing the ongoing challenges of insecurity. He urged them to redouble their efforts and collaborate across services to decisively tackle the security issues facing the nation.
Matawalle passionately charged the officers, stating, “The Nigerian people look up to you, our newly promoted Generals, to bring an end to the insecurity that has plagued certain regions.
