HOR : Court Upholds Election Of Rodney Ambaiowei

Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency in Bayelsa state Mr. Rodney Ambaiowei has expressed his commitment to carrying opposition parties along in his activities and projects.

Following the conclusion of a legal battle that upheld his victory, Rodney Ambaiowei of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, said he is now focused on delivering on his promises to the people of Southern Ijaw.

Addressing news men in Abuja, Mr. Ambaiowei who highlighted his determination to represent all constituents, transcending party lines emphasized the need for unity and collaboration to drive progress and development in Southern Ijaw.

He acknowledged the wealth of ideas and experience that the opposition party members possess and expressed a desire to tap into their knowledge for the betterment of the constituency.

When asked about his approach to involving opposition parties, Ambaiowei
revealed that he had already begun reaching out to members of the opposition who had previously not supported him.

He acknowledged the familial and community ties that transcend political differences and reiterated his dedication to serving all constituents, irrespective of their party affiliations.

Mr Ambaiowei emphasized the importance of unity, stating that while political disagreements may arise during elections, it is vital to come together as one after the electoral process is concluded.

He expressed a desire to foster a sense of brotherhood among the different political parties and provide orientation to promote collaboration and mutual understanding.

While conveying his deep appreciation to his constituents for entrusting him with the privilege to represent them in the House of Representatives, the Lawmaker assured the public that his office would remain open and accessible to all, regardless of their political affiliations.

The Federal Lawmaker encouraged constituents to reach out to him, share their concerns, and actively participate in the planning and execution of initiatives aimed at building a stronger Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency.

Mr. Ambaiowei outlined specific plans to address pressing issues within the constituency as he unveiled targeted strategy to tackle drug abuse, prioritizing older adults in his constituency.

He mentioned his involvement in the committee on drugs and narcotics and his intention to organize a program to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse.

Furthermore, the representative expressed a commitment to empowering women through the provision of soft loans and training programs that would enable them to become self-employed and create job opportunities for others.

“Youth development also featured prominently in my plans, with an emphasis on education and sensitization to discourage reliance on handouts and foster self-sufficiency”.
