The need for the new leadership of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, to embark on infrastructure development that will improve living standard of the people has been advocated.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike made the call when he received members from the Okrika Nationality who paid him a visit at his residence in Portharcourt, Rivers State.

The Minister who commended the Okrika people for deeming it necessary to visit and appreciate him, urged the newly appointed Executive Director, Finance and Admnistration of NDDC, Mr Alabo Boma Iyaye to initiate people oriented projects that will stand the test of time.

He advised Mr Iyaye to as a matter of urgency prioritize critical projects, like the Borokiri/Okrika bridge that will connect the Niger Delta areas aside the usual routine of building classrooms in communities.

In his words of encouragement, Wike who expressed delight over Boma Iyaye’s appointment, noted that people have lost hope in the commission, hence the need to rekindle the hope of the people in line with President Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.

He also encouraged the Traditional Rulers from the Okrika and other residents to support Mr President.

Responding, the Executive Director, Finance and Admnistration, Niger Delta Development Commission Boma Iyaye said the discussion for the commencement of the infrastructure has begun, and funds for the landmark Borokiri/Okrika bridge project available.

He appreciated the FCT Minister for giving them the opportunity to visit him, saying”We will Follow You to Anywhere You Want Us to Follow Because of Your Impactful Contributions”.
