Cup Holders Of NWFL ,Delta Queens Still Winless

Defending champions of the Nigeria Women Premier Football League, Delta Queens are winless in the 2023/24 season, after forced back-to-back draws against newcomers Ekiti Queens and Remo Stars Ladies respectively.
Delta Queens who were unbeaten throughout the 2022/23 season has dropped 4 points in two games, struggling with newly promoted sides in group B.
The coach Tosan Blankson Ladies who played out a goalless draw against Ekiti Queens in their season opener, on Wednesday could not hold a 1-0 lead handed to them by Alaba Olayemi in the 45 minute, as 27 minutes into the second half Arubo Oluwaseyi leveled matters for the visitors with a powerful shot.
With two draws in two games Delta Queens are now placed 5th on the log.
In other matches played in group B, a brace from Motunrayo Ezekiel and a goal from Chiamaka Okwuchukwu helped Rivers Angels secure their first win of the campaign, and a move to the top of the group with a convincing 3-1 victory over Edo Queens.
Also in group B, FC Robo Queens of Lagos bounced back from their 1-4 defeat to Edo Queens as they secured a 3-2 win over Sunshine Queens of Akure, while at the Samson Siasia Stadium,Yenagja, Bayelsa Queens handed newcomers Ekiti Queens their first defeat beating them 2-0.

Group A encounter saw Nasarawa Amazons and Abia Angles continue their 100 percent start to the season.
The Solid Miners from Nasarawa relied on a 45′ minute goal from Bibiana Odoh to edge Heartland Queens 1-0 to move up the ladder , Warri based Royal Queens who were seeking a first point of the new season lost to Abia Angels with the same marging.
Rounding up day two of the Nigeria Women Premier Football league, debutantes Dannaz Ladies of Lagos handed Onome Ebi captained Naija Ratels a second straight defeat after a 2-0 effort in Lagos, while Confluence Queens beat host Adamawa Queens 1-0 away at the Pantami Int’l Stadium,Gombe.
