2023 CAF Awards To Hold In Marrakech December, 11

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has concluded plans to hold a successful 2023 Gala Award in Marrakech, Morocco on Monday, 11 December 2023.

Following release of this year’s nominees, two Nigerian players have been shortlisted in the male category, in two different categories of the CAF awards.

Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen and Gent forward, Gift Orban are contenders for the Men’s Footballer of The Year and Young Player of The Years awards respectively.

Former Liverpool and Senegal forward, Sadio Mane won the Men’s Footballer of the Year award last year, while Super Falcons and Barcelona striker, Asisat Oshoala won the Women’s award.

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been tipped as favourite to win this year’s Men’s award this year after being the only African nominated for the FIFA best player award and also finishing 8th in the just concluded 2023 Ballon d’Or .

Meanwhile, Super Falcons star forward, Oshoala is expected to retain her award for the 5th time.

CAF has also announced that the media accreditation application process for the CAF Awards 2023 is open, the accreditation window will close on 25 November 2023.
