The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCT, Nyesom Wike has stressed the need for Nigerians to continue to support President Bola Tinubu.

Wike who noted that President Tinubu is not a president for APC, but Nigeria, urged all to support him in his quest to make the country better with his inclusive policies.

The FCT Minister stated this when he received leaders of the All Progressives Congress Rivers state chapter, led by its National vice chairman South -South, during a visit in Abuja.

This is coming as the Supreme Court upheld the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Court ,PEPC, that a candidate does not need to get 25% of votes in the Federal Capital Territory to be the president of Nigeria.

The court delivered judgement in the case of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, against the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Wike delighted over Mr President’s victory, said he has the capacity and political will to take actions that would be in the interest of all Nigerians, hence the need to give him the needed support.

We owe it a duty to continue to support Mr. President, irrespective of the political party we belong. It is not hidden of my position, and I owe nobody any apologies- I stand for equity, fairness and justice.

“I thank God that the battle has ended to the glory of God. We are all members of the Nigerian-state, and therefore it is important for all of us to also understand that the Nigerian-state doesn’t belong to any particular person or group. For a country of this nature, if A takes, the next opportunity should go to B, it is inclusivity, so I’m not going to discriminate.

“Mr president having emerged, is not a president of APC but a president of Nigeria. While he is governing Nigeria, he must also take the interest of his political party, and nobody can stop it; it is natural. In governance”.

In his remarks, the National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC South-South, Victor Giadom said the visit was to congratulate Wike on his appointment and pledge the party’s support for him.

He described Wike’s appointment as the first for a person from Rivers and expressed confidence in his capacity to deliver, saying; “I urge you to deploy your vast experience and track record to bear in the discharge of your duties.
