Critical facilities in bad state across the six area councils will soon be rehabilitated for the benefit of residents.
The Mandate Secretary, Social Development Secretariat, SDS, Ibrahim Aminu, gave this assurance when he embarked on an inspection tour of facilities in Area Councils.
Aminu assured that his Administration would revive facilities that could be revived immediately and put them to use, while measures will be put in place for others that require long-time planning.

He reiterated the Secretariat’s commitment to actualizing the mandate of providing social services to residents of the territory.
Facilities visited today in the company of other senior officials of the Secretariat include Ushafa Pottery Centre, Bwari, Mini Stadium in Ushafa, Vocational and Rehabilitation Centre, Kuchiko-Bwari, Women Development Centre, Zuba and also Lugbe Vocational and Training Centre.
The SDS Mandate Secretary who registered his displeasure over the deplorable conditions of some of the facilities visited directed relevant departments in charge of such facilities to compile a comprehensive report about the current state of the facilities including challenges with pictorial evidence and forward it to his office for onward presentation to the minister.
The SDS Boss specifically expressed concern over the Bwari Mini Stadium project in Ushafa which was stalled even though about fifty percent of the funds have been paid to the contractor handling the project.
