The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN has called on the Federal Government to implement sustainable policies to bolster the Naira, stimulate investment, and revitalize key sectors.
President of the Christian Association, most Reverend Daniel Okoh made the call in Abuja to commemorate the nation’s 63rd Independence Anniversary.
Archbishop Okoh described the recent fall of the Naira against major world currencies, particularly the dollar as having a profound impact on the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
Commenting on other national challenges, the president of CAN implored the government to allocate adequate resources to security agencies to combat the recurring insecurity rocking the nation as it will enable people to return to their farms, boosting food security.
The apex Christian Association also emphasized the need to prioritise education and healthcare which are fundamental rights that must be guaranteed to every Nigerian.
Archbishop Okoh however called on the citizenry to use the occasion of the 63rd Independence Anniversary to reflect on the benefits of unity and national cohesion.
