The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC is to conduct a mock accreditation using the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System in the forth coming Off Cycle Governorship Elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi States
The National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education, Mr Sam Olumekun, said in Abuja that the test run will take place simultaneously in the three States as part of preparations for the forth coming election scheduled for Saturday 11th November 2023.
Mr Olumekun said a maximum of three polling units in each senatorial district had been identified across each of the three States covering a total of nine senatorial districts and Twenty Seven polling units.
According to him, lessons learnt from the exercise will be taken into consideration in ensuring a seamless process on the election day.
The national commissioner therefore appealed to registered voters in the selected polling units to turn up with their permanent voters’ cards, PVC for the exercise.
Mr Olumekun however maintained that the exercise is strictly a test accreditation and not the actual election.
