Nigeria U-18 women handball team will participate in the Africa Women’s Youth Nations Championship, which will hold in Monastir, Tunisia from September 16 to 23.
This is coming after their victory at the IHF Women’s Trophy Africa Continental Phase recently.
The draw for the championship which saw Nigeria drawn in group A alongside Guinea, Algeria and two-time champions and host Tunisia, was held in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Group B has the defending champion and the most successful team in the championship with four titles, Egypt, three-time finalist Angola, DR Congo and Morocco.

Nigeria will be participating for the first time in the championship after there second place finish in the first edition in 2000.
The Africa championship serves as a qualifier for the 2024 IHF Women’s Youth World Handball Championship.
Nigeria’s U-18 girls team has never qualified for the world championship.
