The three Lioness of England have for the first time in their history secured a FIFA Women’s World Cup final slot as they beat co-host Australia 3-1 in Sydney’s Olympic Stadium.
With a record crowd of 75,784 fans in attendance, the semifinal clash only took 10 minutes to burst into life, as England Midfielder Georgia Stanway volley was poked out by goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold.
Ella Toone finally broken the deadlock in the 36 minute, giving Sarina Wiegman ladies the lead going into the half time.
The second half saw Australia throw everything they had at England with star striker Sam Kerr who started her first match of the tournament scoring a 25-yard stunner over goalkeeper Mary Earps’ head to make it 1-1.
